The exhibition features Gijs Bakker's gold brocade brooch, created during his residency in China, alongside a unique polychrome brocade showcasing a gold-thread-woven phoenix and lotus, crafted by senior artisans at the Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute. 

This collection reflects Bakker's deep respect for traditional craftsmanship, particularly Nanjing Yunjin, the "crown of Chinese brocade." Through his designs, Bakker highlighted the restrained beauty of Yunjin, ensuring that the final pieces remained true to both their heritage and contemporary aesthetics. His work celebrates the delicate balance between ancient artistry and modern functionality.
